“I can read in French has been an invaluable resource in my French Immersion classroom. When I started teaching Grade 1 some years ago, I had no idea how to effectively teach reading. This program has done the hard work for me. It is a structured literacy program that supports ALL students in their reading journey. It also allows for teachers to easily spot struggling students and to give them the extra practice before moving forward. The images, the photos, the words and the sentences have been so carefully chosen to help students successfully decode and feel a sense of accomplishment and motivation to keep going. I truly can't imagine teaching reading without this structure at my fingertips."

“As we shift our thinking from a balanced literacy approach to a structured literacy approach, Lindsay has been very supportive to help us introduce various literacy initiatives within our school board. We piloted her Phonics Program in a number of our primary classrooms last year and found great success using it. Our teachers found this structured and scripted approach very helpful as we began our shift to structured literacy. This year, we rolled out the resource in all our primary classes along with the sound wall Lindsay created. Our primary educators participated in a well designed, interactive PD session with Lindsay where she modelled how the phonics resource and sound wall can work seamlessly with each other. Lindsay's I Can Read in French program is a systematic program with a scope and sequence that is easy to follow. Since implementing this program in January 2023, our Tier 2 intervention students are moving up reading levels quickly - we see their improvement in our small group and one-to-one instruction AND the classroom teachers are as well. In fact, some students are doing so well they are "graduating" out of this extra support! Lindsay brings knowledge, experience and passion to her ProD sessions.
